The Top 5 Dog-Friendly Restaurants

Dogs are part of the family. You want them to go with you on all your adventures. Luckily, Miami is extremely dog-friendly.

There are even some amazing restaurants that allow dogs to join their owners. The Miami News Times compiled a list of the top 5 dog-friendly restaurants in Miami. Here they are:

1. Michael's Genuine Food & Drink
While you're holding court at one of the courtyard tables at this Design District staple, your canine can enjoy some freshly baked dog biscuits made with organic peanut butter. For a change of pace, snag an outdoor table in the late afternoon from 3 to 5:30 to sample the restaurant's afternoon menu and raw bar offerings.

2. Burger & Beer Joint
You and Fido can enjoy Burger & Beer Joint's signature beef. Though you have to pay for your sandwich, Fido can have his very own complimentary plate. But if you've got your own wolf pack, you might want to order the Motherburger. This $125 mammoth is the size of a manhole cover. Share it with your pooches, or finish it yourself within two hours and it's free!

3. Taurus Beer & Whiskey House
Why not make your nightly walk a little more fun and go for a beer? Both you and Fluffy can belly up to the bar at this Coconut Grove mainstay. Taurus has an open invitation for dogs to lounge inside the restaurant, making it arguably the dog-friendliest place in Miami. Bonus: Take Fluffy on Monday, when there's a 20 percent discount on all food, including the totally sharable cheese fries with house bacon ($10).

4. Shake Shack
While you're downing your favorite ShackBurger ($5.29), your furry companion can indulge in the Pooch-ini ($3.99), a creamy dish of vanilla custard smothered in peanut butter sauce and garnished with dog biscuits. While you're at it, take home a Bag O'Bones ($7.99), a package of five biscuits lovingly baked by Bocce Bakery.

5. The Spillover
Matt Kuscher's the Spillover offers sustainable seafood and a wide selection of ciders and meads. Your pooch has his very own menu here, featuring chicken and rice, meatballs and veggies, and Cuban "chew-gars" (dog biscuits in the shape of cigars) — each $5. Lokal, the Spillover's burger-and-beer brother, offers a similar doggie menu (and Bowser beer) if you're hankering for something meatier.
